Today’s Devotional Title:
Love with Patience

1 Corinthians 13:4
“Love is patient; love is kind; it does not envy; it does not boast; it is not proud.”

The movie I Still Believe, through the story of Jeremy Camp and Melissa, reminds us that true love is not always filled with sweet moments. When Melissa was diagnosed with cancer, their relationship did not become easier—it became even more difficult. But in the midst of uncertainty, Jeremy chose to stay, remain patient, and continue to trust God. It wasn’t love based on feelings, but love born of commitment and faith.

Patient love isn’t when everything is going well, but when it is being tested. Jeremy learned that a strong relationship begins with a right relationship with God. When the foundation is faith, love doesn’t easily crumble just because circumstances change. Patience is not a weakness, but proof that we love maturely.

For us today, this is an important reminder: don’t enter into a relationship just because you are afraid of being alone or feel pressured to see others already have partners. Hasty love often causes us to compromise. But patient love gives God room to lead the process.

Love with patience means daring to wait, daring to maintain holiness, and daring to believe that God’s timing is always better than ours. True love is not just about “chemistry,” but about character and faith that grow together.

What to Do?
1. Learn patience: don’t rush into decisions in relationships; wait for God’s timing.
2. Guard your purity: make sure your romantic relationships don’t distance you from God.
3. Remember the story of Jeremy & Melissa: true love is tested through faithfulness, not just momentary feelings.
