Today’s Devotional Title:
Learning to Love in the Right Way

Song of Solomon 2:7b
“Do not stir up or awaken love until it is ready.”

God’s Word through the Song of Solomon teaches us one important thing: love has its own timing. Love is not something that can be forced, pursued out of panic, or awakened out of fear of being alone. Many people rush into relationships simply because of peer pressure or because they feel uncomfortable seeing their friends already in relationships. Ultimately, decisions are made not based on readiness, but on emotions.

Purity means respecting the process. Patience means trusting that God knows the best timing. Healthy love usually grows slowly—starting from friendship, getting to know each other’s characters, seeing how he deals with problems, and whether you can both grow in faith together. What is strong is not what is fast, but what is mature.

When someone chooses to focus on building character, improving themselves, pursuing life goals, and deepening their relationship with God before getting serious in a relationship, it is not a waste of time. It’s preparation. They’re making sure their heart is ready, not just wanting someone to be with.

What To Do?
1. Don’t enter a relationship just because of pressure or loneliness.
2. Build your own quality before demanding quality in a partner.
3. Trust that God’s timing is always better than yours.
