Today’s Devotional Title:
Growing Through Chaos

Ruth 1:16
“But Ruth replied, ‘Don’t urge me to leave you… Your God will be my God.’”

Life sometimes feels like a puzzle with missing pieces. Ruth experienced that. Her husband died, her future looked blurry, and she had to make a huge decision: go back to Moab where it felt safer, or follow Naomi into an unfamiliar place full of uncertainty. Logically, going back was easier. But Ruth chose faithfulness.

Ruth didn’t have the full picture of God’s plan. She held on to one thing: commitment. In the middle of chaos, she kept moving forward. And from that small but faithful step, God wrote a bigger story. Ruth became part of the lineage of David—and ultimately connected to the birth of Jesus. From her story we learn this: today’s chaos can be part of God’s greater plan tomorrow.

We also go through seasons of not understanding. Family struggles, school pressure, complicated relationships, or an uncertain future. But growing through chaos means choosing to trust even when you don’t see the outcome yet. Faith isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about staying faithful when the answers aren’t visible.

So when life feels messy, don’t assume God is distant. He may be shaping your character, resilience, and faith. Stay faithful. Behind the chaos, God is still at work.

What To Do?
1. When life feels chaotic, choose to stay faithful to God—like Ruth did.
2. Don’t focus only on the problem; trust that God is working behind the scenes.
3. Take small steps of faith—pray, serve, show simple acts of love—even if you don’t yet understand the final outcome.
