Today’s Devotional Title:
Daring to Be Different Without Hurting Others

“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
— Colossians 4:6

Many young people feel that being honest or disagreeing means speaking “straight to the point,” even if the tone becomes sharp or hurtful. Yet spiritual maturity is not measured by how blunt we are, but by how we communicate truth without wounding others. Having an opinion matters—but preserving relationships matters just as much.

Disagreeing politely is not a sign of weakness or fear of losing. On the contrary, it reflects self-control and a mature heart. Jesus Himself often stood in positions that differed from many others, yet His words were always wrapped in love and wisdom. He never lowered the standard of truth, but He also never degraded people.

Differences are natural and healthy within a community, as long as they are expressed with the right attitude. The world is already harsh enough—God calls us to carry truth in a loving way. Be young people known not for being the loudest or the sharpest in debate, but for being the wisest in speech. Dare to be different, without hurting others.

What to Do?
1. Remain humble in the way you speak and express your thoughts.
2. Show that the love of Jesus is reflected in your life.
3. Start building healthy relationships without hurting others’ feelings.
