A Circle That Helps You Grow
Ecclesiastes 4:9
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.”
Friendship is like a sports team you can’t win if you play alone. A healthy circle makes you stronger, but the wrong circle can cause you to fall. That’s why it’s so important to check: are the friends around you helping you grow, or keeping you stuck?
Take Erling Haaland as an example, a young striker who’s currently in the global spotlight. Haaland isn’t great just because of his talent, but also because of the support from his team and clubmates who help him maximize his potential. Without teamwork and a healthy circle, he wouldn’t be able to score as many goals. From this, we learn: the right friends can be a huge push for our growth.
But, if your circle is toxic always tearing you down, making you insecure, or pulling you away from God it’s like playing soccer with a team that never passes the ball. You’ll get exhausted on your own and never move forward. That’s why we need to bravely analyze: is this relationship drawing me closer to my life’s purpose, or pulling me away?
God wants us to have a healthy circle, like a solid team. It doesn’t mean rejecting everyone, but we need to know who can truly be a support system. If we want to grow, our circle must help us become more confident, more mature, and closer to God.
What to Do?
1. Evaluate your circle: who helps you move forward, and who holds you back.
2. Choose close friends who can be a healthy support system, not ones who drag you down.
3. Learn to be a positive friend yourself so others can grow through your presence.
