A Gratitude Resolution: Obedient and Faithful

“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
📖 John 14:15

The start of a new year is often the moment we make resolutions: to be more disciplined, healthier, or more successful. But as children dearly loved by God, the best resolution is to live obediently and faithfully to Him. John 14:15 reminds us that love for Christ doesn’t stop at words—it is expressed through obedience.

The film “I Can Only Imagine” portrays the journey of Bart Millard, who carried many wounds from his past. Yet gratitude to God helped him learn to obey and remain faithful, even when the path felt difficult. From this story, we learn that true gratitude is not merely something we say—it is a decision to keep walking with God.

Obedience often feels simple, but that’s exactly where its power lies. Small things like praying before bed, being honest in what we say, or helping a friend can become real expressions of gratitude. Faithfulness in small things trains us to be faithful in bigger things.

When we choose to obey, we are saying, “Lord, I trust You know my path better than I do.” That is the most beautiful form of gratitude—not just spoken, but lived out. With small steps each day, we build a life full of gratitude and faithfulness to Him.

What to Do:
1. Start this year with a simple prayer: “Lord, I want to obey.”
2. Write down one small thing you can do every day as an act of faithfulness.
3. Remember: gratitude is not only spoken, but lived through real action.
