Today’s devotion is titled:
Seeds of the Future
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”
— 2 Corinthians 9:6
Have you ever felt that a small act of kindness you do today will one day come back to you? Or maybe you’ve saved a few coins in a jar and were surprised by how much it grew over time? Kindness works the same way—though small, when it’s sown consistently, it will produce something great in the right season.
The Bible teaches that we will reap what we sow. Paul wrote that the principle of sowing and reaping doesn’t just apply to farms or bank accounts—it also applies to our spiritual lives. When we sow kindness, generosity, and love, we’re planting seeds that will produce eternal fruit in heaven.
God wants us to have hearts that are brave enough to share, not just to keep everything for ourselves. The word “remember” in this verse is a strong reminder: everything we have is temporary. We can’t take anything with us when we die, but the goodness we plant will continue to grow—even beyond our lifetime.
Never underestimate a small act of kindness. Giving money, sharing food, or simply taking time to listen to someone can be the seed God uses to grow something big. Every seed of goodness sown, no matter how small, will never be wasted in God’s hands.
What to Do:
1. Make a simple note of your finances. Set aside an emergency fund not only for yourself, but also so you can be ready to help family or others in need.
2. Give thanks for what you have today, then ask in prayer: “Lord, who can I bless with what You’ve entrusted to me?”
