Today’s devotion is titled:
Not Much, But Meaningful
“Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.”
— Proverbs 15:16
You may have heard of Gita Savitri Devi, an Indonesian content creator and writer who lives in Germany. In a world of influencers filled with glamour, Gita stands out for her simple lifestyle, deep reflections, and courage to be authentic.
Gita often talks about minimalism, self-awareness, and honest spirituality. She doesn’t chase branded items or viral fame, but focuses on values, meaning, and impact. Through her way of living, Gita shows that a life that isn’t full of things can still be rich—spiritually and emotionally.
In a Gen Z world where there’s constant pressure to appear perfect, own more, and follow every trend, Gita reminds us that simplicity is strength. Living minimally doesn’t mean having nothing—it means knowing what truly matters and when to stop chasing.
God doesn’t look at how much we own, but how deeply we live. Spiritual minimalism isn’t about lacking—it’s about freedom: freedom from the demands of the world and freedom to focus on God, the true source of meaning.
What To Do:
1. Choose One Thing to Simplify
It could be your shopping habits, content consumption, or exhausting routines. Cut back on one thing this week, and replace it with reflection or prayer.
2. Write the Value You Want to Live By
In your journal or phone notes, write: “I want to live by the value of…” and fill in a word like honesty, love, or simplicity. Let that guide your day.
3. Be Brave Enough to Be Real
You don’t have to follow every trend to be relevant. If your lifestyle brings you closer to God and gives you peace, that’s more than enough.
