Stepping Forward Even When Afraid
Esther 4:14
“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Have you ever felt afraid when you had to stand in front of the class? Maybe when the teacher asked who would lead prayer, or when it was your turn to present. Your heart beats fast, your hands feel cold, and you secretly hope your name won’t be called.
Often because of fear, we choose to stay silent. We’re afraid of making mistakes, afraid of being laughed at, or afraid of being seen as different. But if we stay silent, we might miss the chance to show courage and be a blessing to others.
Esther also once felt the same way. She was a queen, but she had to make a big decision: either bravely save her people or remain silent for her own comfort. Her uncle Mordecai reminded her that maybe God placed her as queen “for such a time as this.” With faith, Esther finally chose to step forward, even though she knew the risk was great.
Truth Junior friends, just like Esther, you are placed by God in your school, home, and community for a purpose. Don’t let fear stop you from doing what is right. Be brave to step forward even when your heart is racing. Remember, courage born of faith can bring blessings to many.
