Waiting Patiently

Genesis 30:22
“Then God remembered Rachel; He listened to her and enabled her to conceive.”

Truth Kids friends, who among you doesn’t like waiting? Have you ever been upset because someone was late to pick you up from school? Maybe the wait wasn’t that long. But what if we had to wait for years? Could we endure it?

Similar to Sarah’s story yesterday, today we learn about obedience and patience from a Bible figure named Rachel. Rachel was Jacob’s wife who had no children. She continually prayed to God for a child and kept living in obedience. But her waiting was not short, Truth Kids friends. In fact, she had no children for 14 years. During all that time, she kept praying for God to give her offspring. In the end, her waiting bore fruit: Rachel gave birth to children named Joseph and Benjamin.

Truth Kids friends, don’t be disappointed or give up when your prayers haven’t yet been answered by God. God wants to prepare the best for us. But often, to receive the best, we must wait and go through a process that is not always easy—just like Rachel. So, do you want to receive the best? If yes, then learn to be patient, keep praying diligently, and live in obedience to God. Believe that God is surely preparing the best for all of us.
