Love That Never Fades
Genesis 3:20
“Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.”
One afternoon, Dina was helping her mom prepare dinner. But because she was in a hurry, Dina accidentally dropped her mom’s favorite plate and it shattered into pieces.
“Oh no!” Dina panicked. Mom will be angry… she won’t love me anymore, she thought.
Sure enough, Mom came and saw the broken plate. Dina lowered her head in fear, her eyes brimming with tears. But Mom just took a deep breath, then hugged Dina.
“I’m sad the plate is broken, but I love you more. Next time, be more careful, okay?”
Dina was surprised. She thought Mom would be really angry. But it turned out that her mom’s love was bigger than her mistake.
Her Sunday School teacher once told a story about Eve, the mother of all living beings. Even though Eve once made a mistake, God never stopped loving her. In fact, God promised to send a Redeemer to save mankind—namely, Jesus.”
Dina smiled to herself. She learned something that day: God’s love is always greater than our mistakes.
