Today’s Devotional Title:
Small but might
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in your words, your actions, your love, your faith, and your purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12
Have you ever seen a chili pepper? It is small, but it is very spicy and has a big impact on a dish. It is the same with us. Even though we are young or feel “small” in the eyes of the world, God is able to use our lives to have a big impact on those around us. Age or size is not a limitation to His power. What God seeks is a heart that is willing to be used, a steadfast faith, and a life that sets an example, as Paul wrote to Timothy, so that we may be examples in our words, deeds, love, faith, and holiness.
In the Bible, there are many young figures who used God in extraordinary ways. David, who was still a teenager, dared to face the giant Goliath because he believed that God who accompanied him was far greater than the enemy before him (1 Samuel 17).
God does not look at our age or appearance, but at our obedient hearts that are ready to be used by Him. Do not let words like “You are still young, wait until later!” make you doubt. In fact, your youth is the best time to start living radically for God!
What to do:
1. Start small: Show love by helping friends, telling the truth, or praying for others.
2. Be an example: Even though you are young, your life can inspire many people.
3. Trust in God’s promise: He who calls you will enable you!
