Today’s reflection is titled:
Drop the Weight
“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” – Ephesians 4:32
Imagine walking a long distance while carrying a super heavy backpack. Tired, out of breath, and unable to enjoy the journey. Just like that, our lives can also feel heavy if we hold onto hurt feelings, anger, or unresolved conflicts. These burdens often stem from family differences in character, opinions, or attitudes that eventually strain relationships. It’s understandable that not all problems can be resolved immediately, but the danger lies in never taking the initiative to resolve them. That means we choose to keep carrying a burden that could be put down.
“Drop the Weight” means being brave enough to let go. Not because the problem is trivial or we pretend to forget, but because we realize that holding onto that burden only hurts us. Our hearts become filled with anger, our energy is drained, and our daily happiness fades away. Forgiveness isn’t instant, but every small step toward forgiveness stopping to dwell on old issues, trying to speak openly, or simply praying is a way to release one stone at a time from that heavy backpack. Life is too short to be dragged down by problems. Drop the weight, and let your heart be free to move forward.
What to Do:
1. Acknowledge the burdens you’re still holding onto, then decide to start letting them go
2. Pray and surrender every wound or anger to God
