Today’s devotional is titled:
Sharing
Mark 12:43-44
“Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, ‘Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything, all she had to live on.’”
Truth Junior friends, imagine if you had a chocolate factory. Your factory could produce 100,000 chocolate bars every day. That means in one month, you would have around 3,000,000 chocolate bars. Wow… that’s a lot, right? Then one day, a little child comes to the factory and asks for 1 chocolate bar out of the 3,000,000 you have. Would you give it? One compared to 3,000,000 is so little. After giving 1, you would still have 2,999,999 left. That’s still a huge amount.
Now, imagine you had nothing else except 1 chocolate bar. Then a little child comes and asks for that 1 chocolate bar. That would mean you have to give away everything you have. After giving it, you would be left with nothing.
Which is easier, giving when we have so much, or giving when it means giving everything we have? Of course, it’s easier to give when we have plenty than when we have only one.
The mission we learn today is about sharing in every situation, Truth Junior friends. To share, you don’t need to wait until you’re grown up or rich. You can start sharing now. God doesn’t look at the amount we give. God looks at our hearts when we share with others, a heart that loves Him when giving.
