Today’s Devotional:
Like a Sunflower Not Just Facing the Light When It’s Easy
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”
– 1 Corinthians 13:4
Sunflowers always turn toward the sun. They don’t chase shadows or get distracted by artificial light. Even when the sky is cloudy, they stand tall waiting for the true light.
A thriving relationship is like a sunflower: it has direction, consistency, and doesn’t depend on moods or weather. But many relationships today are more like plastic flowers pretty to look at, but lifeless and unable to grow.
Gen Z often gets caught in relationships that only show up when things feel good. But real love stays present even when storms hit. Like sunflowers, we’re called to keep facing the light not the drama.
Sunflowers also grow in clusters. They strengthen one another, not compete to be the tallest. That’s how healthy relationships work too not about who’s most popular, but who’s most faithful in love.
What To Do:
1. Turn Your Heart Toward the Light
Reflect on your relationships. Do they draw you closer to God or pull you away? Choose to face the light, not the shadows.
2. Show Up When It’s Cloudy
Reach out to a friend who’s been distant or quiet. Not to pressure them but to say: “I’m still here, even if you’re not ready to talk.”
