Today’s Devotional:
Faithful Like Ruth, Not Just Staying Toxic

“But Ruth replied, ‘Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay…’” – Ruth 1:16

Ruth had every reason to walk away her husband had died, her future was uncertain, and Naomi had nothing to offer. But Ruth chose to stay. Not because it was comfortable, but because her love was rooted in responsibility.

In Gen-Z culture, relationships are often dropped when they no longer “vibe.” But Ruth shows us that meaningful connection isn’t built on convenience it’s built on commitment born from love and faith.
Ruth didn’t stay out of toxic loyalty. She stayed because she saw God’s calling through her relationship with Naomi. She didn’t demand, didn’t complain she showed up with faithfulness and actively built a future.

Healthy relationships aren’t always easy, but they strengthen us through the process. Ruth eventually became part of the lineage of the Messiah because she dared to stay faithful in the relationship God entrusted to her.

What To Do:
1. Evaluate Your Relationships
Ask yourself: “Am I present in this relationship because of calling or just out of habit?” If it’s draining and unhealthy, pray for courage to set boundaries.
2. Build Through Action
Send a message to someone who’s struggling: “I don’t have all the answers, but I want to be here for you.” Show up like Ruth with active love, not passive presence.
