Today’s devotional is titled:
Riko and the Giant on the Field
1 Samuel 17:45
“David said to the Philistine, ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.’”
Riko wasn’t good at sports, but one day, the teacher chose him to join the relay race between classes. His friends mocked, “Why Riko? He runs so slow!” Riko almost gave up.
That night, he remembered the story of David. David was young, small, and didn’t have big weapons like Goliath. But he believed God was with him. David said, “I come in the name of the Lord!” And David won!
Riko then prayed, “Lord, I’m scared, but I want to run for You.” The next day, he ran with all his might. Not because he was the fastest, but because he didn’t give up. Amazingly, Riko’s team won, not because he was the greatest, but because he dared to believe.
Sometimes, our “Goliaths” are fear, mockery, or challenges at school. But God is with the children who believe and walk with Him.
Don’t be afraid to be like Riko, Truth Junior friends. We dare to step forward not because we are strong, but because God is with us!
