Today’s Devotional is titled:
Legacy of Skills
“I remember Your wonderful works of old, and I ponder all Your great deeds” – Psalm 77:12
Have you ever thought about what kind of legacy you want to leave behind? Not wealth or fame, but skills and lasting impact. God gives each person unique talents whether it be music, leadership, creativity, or service to be used to glorify Him and bless others.
Consider the life of David. He was not only known as a king, but God also used him extraordinarily as a psalmist who left behind songs of worship for future generations. His skill in playing the harp and writing psalms became a spiritual legacy that is still remembered today. Similarly, Bezaleel in Exodus 31 was given special skills by God to build the Tabernacle.
God wants us to develop our talents not for pride, but to leave a legacy that glorifies Him. When we faithfully hone our skills and use them for God’s Kingdom, the impact will extend beyond our own lives to our families, friends, and even ourselves.
What to do?
1. Discover your talents; ask God for wisdom to recognize your gifts and calling, then develop them in the places He trusts you with.
2. Hone them diligently like David; be faithful in small things, and God will open opportunities for greater things.
3. Use them to serve; direct your skills toward helping others, for a life of impact begins with service.
