Living in Love

“For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” – James 3:16

Ririn was sitting alone in the park with a gloomy face. What happened to her? Her friends didn’t even want to be near her. Why was that?

It turned out that at school, Ririn often showed envy toward her friends and was unfriendly. Because of that, her classmates didn’t want to hang out with her anymore. Silvy, who used to be Ririn’s close friend, also felt sad about Ririn’s change of attitude. Ririn would get upset whenever she saw a friend with a nicer bag or shoes. She often got angry and even felt jealous of Silvy, her own best friend.

Because of this, Silvy began to distance herself and no longer wanted to be close with Ririn. What we sow is what we reap. Since Ririn sowed bad attitudes, she ended up reaping bad things too—being avoided by her friends. That’s really sad, isn’t it, Truth Juniors?

But Silvy kept praying for Ririn. She asked God to touch Ririn’s heart so she would soften and be willing to change. One day, Silvy bravely decided to talk to Ririn at the school park. When Silvy came over, Ririn was shocked. No one had approached her for a long time, let alone wanted to talk.

Finally, Silvy sat down and started speaking. She told Ririn that she missed the old Ririn—the cheerful one who wasn’t always angry. Hearing this, Ririn lowered her head. Without realizing it, tears began to flow. She looked at Silvy and hugged her tightly.

Ririn was very thankful that Silvy still cared and honestly reminded her about what she needed to change. God wants us to live in love—not in envy, harshness, or anger. Ririn felt truly sorry for her behavior and asked Silvy to keep reminding her whenever she slipped back into her old ways. Silvy was so happy to see her friend’s willingness to change.

Day by day, Ririn’s life began to transform. She regained her friends’ trust, and they were happy to be around her again because her heart was now filled with love and joy.

So, Truth Juniors, let’s always remember to live in love!
