Today’s Devotional is titled:
The Curse of Carrying Too Much

“Cast your burden on the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.” – Psalm 55:22

Sometimes we don’t realize that we’re carrying too much. Because we’re used to being strong, we keep pushing forward, managing everything, saying yes to everything, holding it all in. But there are days when breathing feels heavy, not because the body is tired, but because the soul has no room left to breathe. That is the curse of carrying burdens beyond what God ever asked us to bear.

There is a kind of exhaustion that doesn’t come from hard work, but from carrying things that were never ours to carry. We take on other people’s problems, outside pressure, old wounds that haven’t healed, even spiritual standards God never gave. We chase everything : ministry, achievement, approval, because we’re afraid of failing. And slowly, without noticing, our soul begins to sink under the weight of burdens God never placed on our shoulders.

Carrying too much eventually causes us to lose direction. We become so busy proving ourselves that we forget: God never asked us to prove anything, only to trust and walk with Him.
He doesn’t want us to live under pressure, but in the fullness of His peace and love.

What to Do:
1. Write down every burden you’re carrying, and pray over them one by one.
2. Train your heart to trust that you don’t have to control everything.
