The Tongue

“The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.” – Proverbs 15:4

Truth Kids 😊, what do you like more: being praised, being scolded, or being mocked?
Of course, the answer is being praised, right?
When we are praised, our hearts feel happy. 💗
For example, when you let your younger sibling have their way, or when you study diligently at school, and then your teacher or parents praise you. Wow, it feels so good!

But how about when we get scolded even though we didn’t do anything wrong? Or when a friend mocks us?
That surely feels sad and upsetting.
For example, if Mom’s flower pot breaks because your sibling dropped it, but you’re the one who gets blamed. That feels so unfair.

Well, if we don’t like being mocked, we also shouldn’t mock others, right?
God wants us to speak with kindness, gentleness, and honesty. 🗣️
Our words can make people happy, or they can make people sad.

So, dear Truth Kids, let’s guard our tongue.
Let’s use our mouths to comfort, to encourage, and to bring joy to others. 🌟
