A True Friend, A Reflection of God’s Love

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.” – Proverbs 17:17

Hi, Truth Juniors! Who here has a best friend? Wow, it’s so wonderful to have a friend who is there for us in both happy and sad times. Today we’re learning about how to be a good friend, just as God teaches us. God wants us to be faithful friends—not only when it’s fun to play together, but also when our friends are struggling. Sometimes a friend may feel sad because of a bad grade, being scolded, or feeling lonely. In times like that, we can show God’s love by being present, listening, and encouraging them.

Being a good friend also means not being jealous or upset when our friends succeed. Instead, we celebrate with them and cheer them on. For example, when a friend wins a competition, we can say, “Congratulations! You did great!” instead of, “Ah, you just got lucky.”

A healthy friendship means helping one another, respecting each other, and never putting one another down. If we see a friend make a mistake, we can gently correct them and help them change—that shows we care and love them.

Truth Juniors, let’s be friends who bring goodness and peace, not ones who mock or get jealous. Because when we are faithful and loving friends, we reflect God’s love to the world. So starting today, let’s be true friends full of love!
