Caring for Nature
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” – Psalm 24:1
Have you ever gone to the forest, Truth Juniors? How refreshing it feels to return to nature, surrounded by trees! The air there is so much cleaner compared to the city, which is often full of pollution and has very few trees along the roads. Truth Juniors who live in villages may already be used to seeing lush greenery. But for those living in cities, to see thick trees we often need to go to special places.
God created nature for us to enjoy and to care for. We are responsible for taking care of the trees, soil, and water so they stay healthy and fertile.
We can start by planting trees. If you don’t have a yard, you can plant in pots. Try planting seeds that grow easily and don’t require too much care. You can also plant things that can be used in cooking, like chili peppers, water spinach, green onions, or celery. Mom will surely be glad if you help with planting. When she needs vegetables, you can simply pick them from your own plants!
When we get into the habit of planting, we will slowly grow to love the trees. More trees make the air cleaner and fresher. Of course, we all want to breathe healthy air, right?
So, let’s take care of nature, Truth Juniors! Damaging nature is the same as not respecting God as the Creator. Always remember to care for this world. Just as today’s verse reminds us: the earth belongs to the Lord, so we must take good care of the world and everything in it.
