FROM ZERO TO HERO

“Now go, I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.” But Moses said to the Lord, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” – Exodus 3:10-11

Often, when we are faced with a great task or an important calling, our first reaction is to doubt ourselves. We feel inadequate, incapable, or even think, “Who am I?” We feel like we’re starting from “zero,” and the task before us is too big to handle. We see others as capable “heroes,” while we feel ordinary.

This is exactly what Moses felt. When God called him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt a monumental mission Moses’s reaction was doubt and refusal. He asked, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” Moses felt he had nothing to offer: he was a shepherd on the run, stuttered, and was far from the image of a heroic leader. He felt like a “zero” in the face of such a huge task.

However, God’s response to Moses did not focus on Moses’ abilities but on God’s own presence. God did not say, “Because you are great,” but rather, “I will be with you” (Exodus 3:12). This is the essence of the “from zero to hero” journey in our faith. It is not about who we are or what we have, but about who God is who is with us. When God is with us, even the most “zero” can become a hero used by Him to do extraordinary things.

What To Do:
1. Don’t hesitate when God calls or gives you a task.
2. Rely on God’s strength, not your own ability.
3. Take a step of faith, no matter how small, because God can use anyone for great things.
