Compromise Comes Softly
“Fear of man will prove to be a snare…” – Proverbs 29:25
Compromise rarely comes all at once. It slips in through the desire to be accepted, the fear of rejection, or the discomfort of standing out. It starts small — laughing at something you should oppose, staying silent when you should speak, or cutting down time with God because you’re afraid of being called “too spiritual.”
Saul lost God’s favor because of one decision: he feared the people’s opinion more than obeying God’s command. It seemed like a politically smart move, but it ultimately destroyed his future.
God is looking for hearts that are faithful, not just skilled in diplomacy. It’s better to obey and stand alone than to be accepted while drifting from His presence.
What to Do:
Ask yourself: is there anything you’ve started to “loosen” just to stay acceptable in others’ eyes? Return to the values God planted in you.
