Today’s devotional is titled:
When Dreams Don’t Come True
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart…”
(Ecclesiastes 3:11a)
Have you ever thought, “Why didn’t it turn out the way I hoped?” You’ve worked hard, prayed earnestly — but it still ended in disappointment. Sometimes, dreams don’t come true the way we imagined. And yes, that can hurt.
But disappointment might actually be God’s invitation to trust in a higher path. Sometimes God withholds what we ask for because He’s preparing something better suited to our calling. Not every failed dream is a dead end. It could be a redirection toward a more meaningful road.
What to Do?
1. Reflect on an unfulfilled dream — is it truly your calling, or something that may need to be surrendered?
2. Bring your disappointment to God. He won’t reject your honest emotions — in fact, He longs for you to come to Him.
