It becomes a big problem for all of us if when we die later, it turns out that we don’t have God yet. So, don’t think that being a Christian means we already have God. Going to church doesn’t necessarily mean we already have God. People who have God must have His characters. So, if we don’t have God’s characters—which are merciful to others, and stay away from all forms of actions that violate God’s holiness—then we don’t have God yet. Therefore, we should make it the target, projection, and purpose of our life; and we must seriously fight for it. Because, if we don’t have an encounter with God, it’s impossible for us to have a God-fearing heart so we can’t really live right.
We must realize that having God requires our earnestness. God provides the Word and the Holy Spirit to guide us to all the truth and all events that shape us, but we need to give a response. If we don’t experience contact with God, then we definitely don’t have a frequency that connects with God. Herein lies the problem, many believers are less or not serious with God. We should devote our time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week seriously so that we can experience the living God.
We can see those who live their god. Do not try to offend or harm the name of their god and the holy book, because they will defend with their lives at stake. They are so reverent to their god. Of course, it does not mean that if the name of Jesus is reproached and we become angry; no need to do that. Our Lord can and is able to defend Himself. It’s better if we keep quiet, and don’t need to be angry, because we want to be civilized people in the midst of a plural society.
So don’t let us die later but are not allowed to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Don’t take it lightly or trivially, but be serious about it because we will surely one day appear before God’s Judgment Seat where our circumstances will be exposed, and nothing can be hidden. Therefore, we absolutely should encounter God every day. We must imagine how we feel if we are already in the presence of God. If we don’t really have God, we will surely tremble, unable to stand before Him. Having God requires our earnestness and it can’t be done in a short time. So, we should only have one room in this life, namely God’s room.
In general, people have a lot of rooms. There are rooms for business, family, hobbies, careers, studies, and so on. While the Lord’s room is just in the corner, which is only entered when we go to church. Yet, God’s word says, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Cor.10:31). So, there should be only one room namely God’s room. There is nothing we do without having something to do with God. If we study and excel, it is so that we have the expertise so that we can get a job, and by working, we have money to repay our parents’ kindness, help others and support God’s work. If our room is only for God, we will be far from wrong actions or deeds that violate God’s holiness. So, we have to really deal with God as something we view as everything, and in fact, this life is indeed only to deal with God.
The 70-80 years of our life are just a preparation for eternity. While real life is later behind the blue sky and we have to work on it, as said in 2 Cor.11, where every individual must be a pure virgin for the Lord Jesus. Paul also said, “…I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy.” Not jealous in a general sense or meaning. If the focus of the congregation is not on God, it means unfaithfulness, and can be said fornication or spiritual infidelity, this is what causes jealousy. How did it happen? Because the interest of the church is more to the world. This doesn’t mean it’s wrong if we watch movies, or go on excursions, but have we provided sufficient portions for God?
If we meet God, we will see the glory, the majesty of God, and the awesomeness of eternity. Do not let it be at that time we only then live how precious every minute we have while in the world; it’s too late! So, how lucky it is if we use every second, minute, hour, day, week, month, and year of our life to interact with God. Then when we come before God, He knows we value and honor Him, and it is marked by the nature of God’s character in us. We should already realize how precious time is before we lie in a hospital bed between life and death, or in a state of extreme distress. So, if now, we haven’t realized it yet, let us change.
We should seriously provide our time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so that we can live the living God
